Grace - The Sower (1979?)

Date August 26, 2007

Sower reminds me of the glory days of the male/female Jesus music folkrock group. I’m thinking of albums like Dove’s debut, Phoenix Sonshine’s Shinin’ In The Light and Suncast’s In Touch Again. The custom-made Sower is on equal footing with all those classics. That endearing blend of 12-string guitar, electric guitar leads/backing, rhythm section and moving guy/girl harmonies shines brightly on songs like ‘That I Might Serve Thee’, ‘Faith’, ‘Gethsemane’, ‘Quick To Believe A Lie’ and ‘Rich Man, Poor Man, Saved Man’. Light Spanish flavor on ‘Herman Smith Valdez’, a testimony about a Mexican believer. Sharp pencil cover illustration of lady scattering seed in a field. 500 made. (Ken Scott - Archivist)
