Brothers & Sisters - Tell of the Love (1973)

Date September 21, 2007

California again with another quality male/female electric folkrock act. These four Brothers and three Sisters might be found picking along hippie rural style, doing harmonized banjo country folk, or jamming to a trippy electric groove. Of special interest is the solemn minor-key acoustic number ‘He Paid With His Blood’ with its moving violin and mandolin accompaniment. Good plugged-in guitar leads on the blues workout ‘How Much Is Left For Jesus’. Other titles include ‘Listen To The Word’, ‘The Preacher’, ‘Jesus Was A Carpenter’, ‘Livin’ Like The Devil’, ‘Jesus Is The Best’, thirteen original songs in all. Large open-out lyric insert included. Nice homemade relaxed kick-back vibes throughout. (Ken Scott - Archivist)
